JUNIOR RUGBY UNION
Everything you need to know about Junior Rugby Union and what our club has to offer.
TryRugby Kids Pathway
The Try Rugby Kids Pathway for U4 to U12 players has been designed to provide a series of age specific modified junior rugby union games.
The modified games progressively develop the individual skills, fitness and team work of all players that grow with their physical maturity and understanding of the game.
TryRugby
Ages 4 – 6
Non-contact skills based session for boys and girls who are either keen to start or perhaps unsure about the game of rugby. The program provides a place to test their interest in an non competitive, fun environment while playing under lights early on Friday nights at Boronia Park. Played during school terms, with no long weekends or school holiday commitments, the program aims to instill a love of the game with the hope that most if not all players progress on to the U6’s once they’ve gained confidence and skills. For the older kids, this progression can be done part way through the season.
Run by Greg Wyatt-Spratt, a past president of the Junior Rugby club and current committee member. Greg has a level 2 accreditation and over the last 9 years has coached at club, district, Sydney and also at national level for the ARU Junior Gold. His experience and dedication has led to the introduction of this program at the Club.
Timed in conjunction with the U10 to U12 Sydney Junior games, Friday nights will often be a bustle of activity at Boronia Park where we have the BBQ fired up, a licensed bar open and families everywhere. It provides an opportunity for those starting out at the club to catch a glimpse of what it means to be part of the Rugby community in Hunters Hill.
So come along and try, we’d love you to be part of our family!
